Bike Friendly Community
The League of American Bicyclists has a Bike Friendly Community program to evaluate how welcoming different communities are for people to ride bicycles. Perhaps as important as the designation itself is the feedback provided from it. This feedback gives us an outside perspective of where we are in the process of becoming more bike-friendly and prioritizes steps to becoming more bike friendly going forward. In 2013, the City submitted an application and received "Honorable Mention" status. In 2016 and in 2020, the City received Bike Friendly Community (Bronze) status.
