Zoo Opens New Jambo Gym Playground this Saturday

Background: The Little Rock Zoo has completed construction of the new Jambo Gym Playground at Café Africa. The project was started by volunteers who approached the Zoo about building a new playground suitable for children ages 5-12. Volunteers raised funds to build the playground from private donations. Funds from General Improvement Funds from the State of Arkansas, the One-Cent City Sales Tax passed in September of 2011, and from the Arkansas Zoological Foundation were also used to fund the playground. The new playground features equipment accessible for disabled children.
