Arkansas Zoological Foundation inducts three new members at February meeting


LITTLE ROCK (February 07, 2006) – The Arkansas Zoological Foundation is proud to announce the addition of new board members Tyler Denton, Robin Hensen, and George Easley. The three were approved by a unanimous vote of the AZF board February 1, 2006. Blair Allen, chair of AZF, said the three new members make an important addition to the foundation.

“All three new members bring new energy and excitement to the Arkansas Zoological Foundation,” said Allen.
The foundation is currently raising funds for The Penguin Project, a capital campaign to raise 1.2 million dollars for a new African Penguin habitat at the Little Rock Zoo. Since July, the foundation has raised nearly $300,000 toward a goal of $600,000. The City of Little Rock has pledged more than $600,000 in matching grants if the foundation can raise an additional $600,000 this year.

New board members Tyler Denton and George Easley will serve as at-large members of the foundation board. In addition to serving as an at-large member of the foundation board, Robin Hensen will serve as chair of the AZF young professional’s auxiliary set for launch in March of this year. Hensen most recently served as chair of the Arkansas Young Professional’s Network Black & White Ball held January 14, 2006 that benefited the Penguin Project.

Tyler Denton serves as the Director of Marketing and Events for the William J. Clinton Foundation. Prior to joining the Clinton Foundation, Tyler worked for Regions Financial Corporation in the Public Funds Department from 2001 to 2003. In 1996 Tyler worked for the reelection campaign of Clinton/Gore in the Political Affairs Department and then joined the White House working in President Clinton’s Scheduling and Advance Department.

George Easley serves as vice president for operations support at Alltel. George joined Alltel in 1997 and has served in a variety of management positions including retail sales manager, staff manager of customer retention, staff manager of indirect distribution, and vice president and manager of the TriCities market area.

Robin Hensen serves as communication manager for the Arkansas Department of Higher Education. She was previously the director of development and public relations at the Arkansas Foodbank Network and a public relations account executive at Stone Ward. She is an active member of the Arkansas Young Professionals Network where she served as chair of the 2006 Black & White Ball benefiting the Arkansas Zoological Foundation Penguin Project.
