LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 20, 2016) – Little Rock’s Spanish-speaking residents will learn about several aspects of City government during informational sessions to be held the last two Saturdays in February.
Working Together in the Community has scheduled two sessions, Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Southwest Community Center on Baseline Road.
Residents are invited to take part in the free sessions, which will cover such topics as:
- Resource Centers
- Code enforcement and COPP officers
- Business licenses and construction permits
- Animal Services
- Tenant housing rights and landlords’ responsibility
With the help of Spanish-speaking translators, employees from several City departments will be at both sessions to explain some of the ins and outs of City government.
Refreshments will be provided by Relyance Bank, a sponsor for the sessions.
The Working Together in the Community group consists of community members, business owners, government officials, and others who want to unite Little Rock’s communities and make neighborhoods better.
In 2015, the group organized the Guatemalan mobile consulate visit, which helped hundreds of people living in Little Rock obtain documents from their home country. More consulate visits are in the works for this year as well.
