City of Little Rock Public Relations (501) 371-6801
L. Lamor Williams | (o) 501 371 4421 | (c) 501 804 4822LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – City Manager Bruce T. Moore announced on Friday that L. Lamor Williams has been hired as communications and marketing manager for the City of Little Rock.
Williams joined the city in May 2016 as the marketing and communications manager for the Little Rock Zoo. There, he was responsible for managing public relations outreach, developing communication and social media content strategies and was the primary contact for media. His role at City Hall requires the same and reports directly to Moore.
“Lamor was already a part of the City of Little Rock family at the zoo so I’ve gotten to know him and his top-notch work in the 10 months he’s worked here. I know he brings a wealth of experience to the City and will put his skills to work ensuring that the public and media are aware of the City’s numerous programs,” Moore said. “I hope the zoo director will forgive me for hiring him away.”
Williams said he’s excited to tackle the new role.
“For the past 10 months I’ve been working to make sure people knew about the awesome programs and events at our Zoo. Now I look forward to keeping the public informed about what’s going on in our great city.”
A Pine Bluff native living in downtown Little Rock, Williams holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Philander Smith College, where he graduated with honors.
Before joining the City of Little Rock, Williams worked as a public relations account executive for Mangan Holcomb Partners and was a newspaper journalist for nearly 20 years for such publications as the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Pine Bluff Commercial.
An active member in the Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, Williams has won several of the group's Prism Awards for writing and strategy.
