On May 6, 2023, at 4:57 p.m., 12th Street Patrol Officers responded to a disturbance with a weapon call in the area of Roosevelt Road and Main Street. A caller advised Emergency Communications of a white car shooting at a gray vehicle. Shortly after, officers were advised the gray vehicle arrived at a local hospital with a subject suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 29-year-old Marvell Harris, succumbed to injuries after medical treatment was rendered. Officers were then advised the incident occurred around Roosevelt Road and Broadway Street. Homicide Detectives responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the body of Mr. Harris to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy. 

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. The next of kin was notified. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
