Patrol Officers with the Northwest Division responded to a shooting at 9600 West 36th Street on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. When officers arrived, they located Derek Wilborn suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and transported Mr. Wilborn to a local hospital where he later died from injuries. Homicide Detectives were notified and responded. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded to the hospital and transported the body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy. 

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. The next of kin was notified. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.

We have made an arrest in this homicide.
