On Tuesday May 29th, 2024, patrol officers with the 12th Street Division responded to a shooting call at 1900 West 19th Street. When officers arrived, Emergency Communications advised officers of a male gunshot victim, 27-year-old Trayvone Owens, arrived at a local hospital. Despite medical aid, Owens succumbed to his injuries. Subsequently, officers located the crime scene, secured the area, and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner responded to the hospital and transported the deceased victim to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area, looked for surveillance video, and spoke with witnesses. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
