Ways to help your community on #GivingTuesday)

Giving TuesdayGiving Tuesday is a global day of giving. But giving is not just reserved for one day a year — here at the City of Little Rock, we think it can be done every day.

Generosity comes in many forms. If you can donate money, please consider doing that for your favorite charities this time of year. We hope that the Little Rock Animal Village is on your list.

In addition to a financial gift, there is something just as valuable you can donate: Your time.

At the City of Little Rock, we offer several volunteer opportunities that are rewarding on so many levels.

For instance, you can:

Become a Little Rock Zoo docent. If you have an interest in animals and want to help with education and conservation activities, this is a perfect fit for you. There are also seasonal opportunities such as helping out with Boo at the Zoo, Wild Wines, or Zoo Brew.

Volunteer at the Little Rock Animal Village. From walking dogs to helping out at adoption events, there are so many ways to show your dedication to our furry friends.

Sign up to be a volunteer Park Ranger. These passionate community builders are ambassadors for our Parks and Recreation Department and stewards of our beautiful green spaces. There are even positions as Cycling Rangers (bike and jersey included!).

Mentor through one of several programs offered by the Little Rock Police Department, including becoming a teammate in the O.K. Program or a positive influence in the GEMS program.

Apply to a City board or commission. These are an important part of our government, enabling residents to help make Little Rock a better place to live, work and play by shaping critical decisions that impact the overall community.
