(Little Rock -- July 14, 2008) While it may be too late to start training for next month’s Olympics, it is not too early for Little Rock youth to start thinking about future Olympics. One of the hottest sports in the Olympics is volleyball, and the Little Rock Parks & Recreation Department has scheduled free Volleyball Clinics on July 17, 18, and 19 at the Southwest Community Center.

According to Susie Matheny, the Community Center’s Supervisor, the skills that will be covered include serving, hitting, passing, setting, defense/offense, and game play.

The clinic is designed for students in 6th grade and up.

The hours of the clinic are 6:00pm-8:30pm on July 17 and 18, and 8:30am-11:30am on July 19. No prior registration is required.

For more information, contact the Ms. Susie Matheny at the Southwest Community Center at 501-918-3975.
