On March 30, 2023, at 9:38 a.m., 12th Street Patrol Officers responded to 813 Valmar Street for a “shooting just occurred” call for service. When officers arrived, they made contact with Maddison Poindexter, who initially stated Mr. Davis shot himself on accident. Mr. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the body of Mr. Davis to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. Based on the evidence at the scene, Ms. Poindexter’s statement, Ms. Poindexter was charged with 2nd Degree Murder and transported to PCRJ. The next of kin was notified. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
