LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 17, 2015) – Earlier this week, the City of Little Rock and the Little Rock Zoo announced that Zoo visitors who used credit cards at the gift shop and front gate entrance March 12, 15, 16, 18, and 22-24 experienced a discrepancy in credit card charges due to a systematic error caused by a third-party processor. The Zoo is pleased to announce that these charges have all been reversed, and customers will see those adjustments on their credit card statement over the next few days.

Credit card transactions charged Feb. 8, 9, 15 and 19 were also delayed for processing but all amounts charged to customers at a later date were charged correctly.

Customers who have concerns, questions or experienced issues due to incorrect charges are encouraged to call the Little Rock Zoo at (501) 666-2406. The Little Rock Zoo retains copies of all signed credit card receipts and can verify any original credit card charges. Representatives from the Guest Services Department will work with each customer to resolve these issues.  It should also be noted that the timeline for reversed transactions to clear will be up to each cardholder's individual bank.

The Little Rock Zoo did not have access to any credit card information during this process and no credit card data or personal information was breached. All financial transactions processed since the incident have taken place with complete financial security. Zoo and City officials will continue to work with its point-of-sale vendor, RMS Systems of Arkansas, to fully address the issues experienced with the company’s software.
