LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (May 29, 2015) – Due to the recent amount of rain and the increased chances of flooding forecasted, the City of Little Rock Parks & Recreation has closed the portion of the River Trail from the Two Rivers Park Bridge westward through the wooded trail ending at the restrooms.  Water is near 3 feet deep across the trail in parts of the park. The Arkansas River is expected to crest later in the day on Friday.

This also raises the chances for snakes mobilizing to higher ground.

Officials advise walkers and cyclists to heed the warnings and do not try to cross over any flooded areas.

For more information, please contact Little Rock Parks & Recreation Director Truman Tolefree at (501) 371-4770 or ttolefree@littlerock.gov.
