(Little Rock AR -- May 28, 2009) Little Rock Public Works Department reports temporary street closure of the 12800 Block of Chicot Road at Castle Valley Road beginning at 9:00a.m. Friday May 29th through Saturday May 30th.
This street closure is necessary for replacement of an underground storm drainage structure. Chicot Road will be closed during the construction. Detours will be necessary. City of Little Rock officials state traffic traveling north on Chicot Road into town should detour over to Geyer Springs Road via Green Road. Traffic traveling south out of town should use Geyer Springs via Mabelvale Cut-Off. Whenever possible small vehicle traffic will be allowed through the construction area via Bunch Road and Castle Valley Road, but larger trucks must use Geyer Springs. Motorists can expect delays due to the construction on Chicot Road at this point.
The area will be barricaded until the project is complete. Please travel slowly across and through this area. Detour signs and barricades will aid motorists safely around the work site. The required repairs are such that travelers through this location will experience delays and may want to seek alternate routes.”
