(East of Chicot Road to Fairwood)
(Little Rock, AR—January 8, 2008) Township Builders, Inc. informs motorists traveling Mabelvale Cutoff (Chicot to Fairwood) to use the newly constructed section (north side) of the construction area as a detour route. Crews are currently working on Phase III from east of Chicot to Fairwood. The work is scheduled to be completed within the next three (3) to four (4) months.
Jimmie Taylor, Resident Engineer, stated: “It is imperative that motorists use the newly paved section to travel through the project; the only exception being to access their residences or area businesses.”
Mr. Taylor also stated: “There are ramps provided from the old detour on the south side of Mabelvale Cutoff to enter the newly opened section. Some residents are driving the old detour directly into construction traffic which can be dangerous for the construction crews as well as themselves. Some motorists are driving across the new section, which they should use, to use the old section which is closed.”
The Southwest Police Precinct has agreed to provide additional patrol to control speeding through the area.
