DAMAGED TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT ROOSEVELT AND ASHER FLASHING RED FOR ONE WEEK

(Little Rock, AR—January 24, 2007) Motorists and pedestrians traveling through intersection of Asher Avenue and Roosevelt Road are encouraged to use extra caution for the next few days. The traffic signal at that intersection is flashing red in all directions for the time being.

The traffic signal controller cabinet at Asher Avenue and Roosevelt Road was extensively damaged by a vehicle accident requiring it to be removed to repair the damage.

Traffic Engineering estimates the signal will be in red flash in all directions for approximately one week. The intersection will operate in the same manner as an all-way stop sign while the control cabinet is being repaired.

Bill Henry, Traffic Engineering Manager stated: “The configuration of the intersection makes it critical that motorists and pedestrians be very careful going though the intersection. Courtesy and patience will be necessary.”
