Jennifer Godwin | (o) 501 371 4421 | (c) 501 804 4822LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (November 21, 2016) – Santa’s helpers from the Little Rock Fire Department are encouraging residents to take part in a toy and clothing drive to provide gifts for the hundreds of foster children served by the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
Each fire station in the City is participating as a collection site and will accept donations of toys, games, books and clothing through Friday, Dec. 16.
Three Wal-Mart locations will be taking donations as well, beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving:
- 8800 Baseline Road
- 2700 S. Shackleford Road
- 19301 Cantrell Road
Collection dates at those locations are scheduled from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26; Saturday, Dec. 3; and Friday, Dec. 9.
Because the Department of Human Services takes in children until Christmas Eve, the collection window is kept open as long as possible. Toys and clothing for children and teenagers are at the top of the list of needs.
