Little Rock Parks & Recreation will be hosting its inaugural “SUMMER BASH” on Monday, July 22 in the Riverfront Park First Security Amphitheater.
This event is to celebrate the end of the summer for the nearly 1,300 children who participate in summer care programs with LRPR.
A talent show, featuring students from the eight different locations will begin at 10:00 a.m. The event will be hosted by former news anchor and current Little Rock School District spokesperson, Pamela Smith. The judges for the talent show are Mark Edwards, Sports Director for KTHV Channel 11, Evangeline Parker of Power 92.3 and Truman Tolefree, Director of Little Rock Parks & Recreation.
An art show, featuring the works of the children will also take place.
The Summer Playground Program has been serving the youth of Little Rock since its beginning in 1921. The program provides daily summer care for the youth of Little Rock, ensuring that they have a safe, healthy and fun summer.
