When: November 13, 2012- 4:00 p.m.

Where: Board of Directors Meeting Room – 2nd Floor City Hall

The City of Little Rock is proud to be the home of many young achievers. Today, the Board of Directors will recognize the Episcopal Collegiate School’s Boys Golf and Girls Tennis Teams for winning the State 3A Championships.

This is the third time in four years that the ECS Boys’ Golf Team has won the 3A State Championship and the fifth consecutive title for the Girls Tennis Team.

These student athletes are shining examples of self-discipline and hard work. The boy’s Golf Team consists of: Conley Hurst, William Pollock, Foster Pollock and Edward Thompson.  Seniors Conley Hurst and Foster Pollock made All-State as did Junior William Pollock.

In addition, Hurst has also been named an HP Scholastic Junior All-American and is eligible to participate in the Polo Golf Junior Classic, one of the most prestigious events in junior golf.

The Boys Golf Coach is Jerry Reese, Athletic Director at Episcopal.

The Girls Tennis Team consists of: Laura Lanier, Elsie Pugh, Sonia Helen Pascale, Madeline Tabor, Mary Grace Munson and Josie Hurst.

The Wildcats won the conference tournament by a landslide, outscoring the runners up by a score of 17-2.  Both doubles and singles finals were all Episcopal finals.

Lanier captured the state title in singles this year and Pugh was the 3A runner up.

The Girls Tennis Coach is Andrea Richmond.
