DuPont is in its 13th year of Partnership with the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM).  Through this multi-faceted program, DuPont brings science, education and resources to assist mayors in making their cities safer, smarter and healthier.  DuPont’s signature science education program -- Science in the School Day -- has shown over 40,000 students in more than 250 cities what it is like to be an “Engineer for a Day.”   Recently, the Company broadened its outreach to include science educators.  Since 2013, DuPont has provided more than 50 science educators with access to national professional development programs that will enhance their ability to bring science to life in their classrooms through this program.

For K-12 education, the DuPont Office of Education supports quality science programs where DuPont operates.  It sponsors The DuPont Challenge Science Essay Competition annually and actively partners with national programs including Science Olympiad and the National Agriscience Teachers Ambassadors Academy to interest young people in science, agriculture and engineering careers.

For the last 13 years DuPont has been a Platinum Partner with The United States Conference of Mayors. With over $5.5 million granted to cities, this award program has been called, by national experts, a model on how public-private partnerships should work together to meet public health challenges.
