On Thursday, October 20, 2022, Little Rock Police Officers were advised by Little Rock Communications of a ‘subject down’ victim in a puddle of blood on the 3500 block of South Bryant Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim -- identified as 33-year-old John Luther of Russellville -- face down with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner responded and transported his body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab and the next of kin was notified.

Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit responded to the scene and began a preliminary investigation after canvassing the area and speaking to witnesses.  As the investigation continues, we urge anyone in the community with information to contact detectives at 501-371-4660 or contact us anonymously by calling 501-371-INFO (4636).
