Little Rock Parks & RecreationWhat is going to turn 94 years old this June, changes each year and still attracts more than 1,000 kids between the ages of 6-15?
That would be the Summer Playground Program hosted by Little Rock Parks & Recreation. Since 1921 this program has offered children in Little Rock a fun, safe and healthy experience during the summer months.

Each summer the kids gather at our multiple locations in Little Rock to swim, roller skate, jump rope, play UNO, and just have a ton of fun. There are many activities that the participants take part in. We use our community centers and work with the Little Rock School District to use schools as sites as well.
There are a couple of annual highlights of the program for the kids. The trip to Wild River Country is something that they are looking forward to all year.
Last year was the first year of the Summer Bash. This is an end-of-season event that brings all of the sites together at the First Security Bank Amphitheater for a cook-out, talent show and art show. The first year of the Summer Bash was a huge success, despite a light, but steady, rain. The second year will be bigger and better.
