Street Construction Notice
Temporary Lane Closures
Shackleford Road
from Kanis Road to I-430
WHAT: The City of Little Rock - Public Works Department reports temporary lane closures of:
Shackleford Road from Kanis Road south to I-430
Beginning at 8:30 a. m. today, Wednesday October 17th, lane closures of Shackleford Road will be required for milling the existing roadway surface in preparation of a new asphalt-driving surface.
Public Works staff reports: “This work is in conjunction Sales Tax Funded 2012 Street Resurfacing Program. We will be milling the old street surface in preparation of applying a new driving surface. This is a much-needed process concerning a very high traffic-count section of roadway; therefore it is our intention to inform the traveling public about the planned lane closures. Every effort will be made to maintain the flow of traffic around the construction equipment, but due to the amount of traffic, some delays can be expected.” Once the milling is complete, contractors for the City will resurface Shackleford Road as soon as practical. The milling work will leave the surface with a roughened appearance. Please travel slowly across these areas. Barricades will be very evident and efforts will be made to aid motorists safely around the work sites, although the required repairs are such that travelers through this location will experience some delays and may want to seek alternate routes
