Demonstration to be held at the Bill and Margaret Clark Third Floor Multi-Purpose Facility on August 16, 2008.
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS (August 11, 2008) – Scott Simmons & Brad Cash from the recently opened Wrought Iron Grill & Pub will be entertaining River Market patrons for the next installment of the River Market Cooking Club on Saturday August 16th. These popular monthly cooking demonstrations have been held at the River Market’s Bill & Margaret Clark Third Floor Facility for the past nine years and have featured guest chefs from many of Little Rock’s finest restaurants. The demo will run from 9am-11am. The fee to attend the Cooking Club is $10.00, paid at the door.
Participants will watch as the chefs demonstrate signature recipes and answer questions from the audience. There will also be a sampling of the prepared food following the demonstration.
Upcoming dates for the River Market Cooking Club include Chef Marshall Smith from So Restaurant-Bar on September 13th, Chef Capi Peck from Trio’s on November 8th, and Chef Mike Selig from Vermillion on November 22nd. Little Rock Parks and Recreation (LRPR) manages 50 parks, seven community centers, the Adult Leisure Center, Jim Dailey Fitness & Aquatic Center, four swimming pools, two tennis centers, the River Market, the Riverfest Amphitheatre, three golf courses, plus a catering service. That includes more than 5,000 acres of designated parks and open space. In addition, the organization offers a wide-range of youth and adult recreational and sports leagues, after-school and summer playground programs for children ages 6-15, outdoor activities, therapeutic recreation and programs for seniors. LRPR, which employs more than 400 dedicated and experienced people, is one of only 31 organizations in the entire United States to be accredited through the Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies through the National Recreation and Park Association.
