Little Rock, AR (4 April 2006). The River Market is teeming with activity, including construction. Due to the extension of the River Rail track and the construction of the 300 Third Tower and other projects, portions of area streets are closed. As a result of the detours and closures, President Clinton Avenue will not be barricaded on Friday and Saturday nights while the construction continues.
According to Police Chief Stuart Thomas, “The City of Little Rock remains committed to the safety of pedestrians and motorists in the River Market area. However, the current detours coupled with the weekend street closure causes vehicular access to the River Market area to be severely restricted. Once the construction is over and the usual traffic patterns have returned, the City will resume the weekend President Clinton Avenue closure.”
