LITTLE ROCK – CapitalCon, an engaging and interactive event intended to help Little Rock residents improve their financial literacy, is Saturday at the Statehouse Convention Center. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Registration starts at 11 a.m., with the first panel discussion beginning at noon.

CapitalCon will feature panels, activations, games, live entertainment and more, all geared toward supporting participants as they learn how to enhance their financial knowledge, build wealth and tackle debt. 

This unique and innovative event is organized by the City of Little Rock and funded by a grant from the African American Mayors Association's Economic Mobility Leadership Institute (EMLI). Little Rock was one of a handful of U.S. cities to receive an EMLI grant to support financial literacy efforts especially among underserved and underrepresented communities.

CapitalCon is open to all ages and all levels of financial experience, whether a participant is an entrepreneur or retiree, a business owner or someone just looking to learn more about managing finance. CapitalCon will feature opportunities to network, ask questions and gain important insights on investment choices and building long-term wealth. 

During the course of the day, participants can engage with leading vendors in the financial ecosystem who can provide assistance and advice on estate planning, obtaining business loans, real estate investing, long-term financial planning, savings, debt relief options and more.

Experts from a variety of economic sectors will share strategies for success during panel discussions. The event wraps up with a pitch competition, followed by a live concert featuring Ivory Scott, a Grammy-nominated Hip Hop and R&B artist and songwriter who was recently named to Sirius XM and Pandora's Artist Accelerator program. He will also discuss his path to success and the financial decisions he's made along the way.
