What: Ray Winder Seats Given to Public
When: Saturday, May 14, 2011 – 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (or until all the seats are gone)

500 pairs of wooden seats will be given away this Saturday at Ray Winder Field from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. or, until the seats are all gone. They will be given away on a first come first serve basis and will be limited to one pair per family. Those wishing to take seats home will be responsible for getting them to their vehicles.

“We had heard from so many Arkansans that they want a piece of this baseball history in their homes,” said City Manager Bruce Moore. “It is hoped that many families will get to share their memories of Ray Winder field with others by taking these classic wooden seats and making it a part of their lives.”

Ray Winder Field was the home of the Arkansas Travelers in Little Rock from 1932 to 2006. The sale of Ray Winder Field to UAMS is pending. The City of Little Rock plans to use the proceeds from the sale for improvements within War Memorial Park.
