LITTLE ROCK -- The City of Little Rock Public Works Department issued the following announcements today:

* Beginning Monday, Feb. 3, for approximately 21 consecutive days (weather permitting), construction crews will install drainage infrastructure on the east side of N. University Avenue north of Kavanaugh Boulevard. The northbound lane of N. University Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, and northbound traffic will be shifted into the southbound left-turn lane.  The southbound thru lane and left turn lane of N. University Avenue will be combined during construction.

The construction zone will extend north along University between Kavanaugh and Stonewall Road.  Residence/business owners within the construction zone will be provided access to their homes/businesses during construction.

*Public meetings scheduled for today (Thursday, Jan. 30), and Monday, Feb. 3, have been postponed. Today's open-forum meeting was scheduled for Ward 4 at the Unitarian Universalist Church. Monday's was scheduled for Ward 5 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Each meeting date will be rescheduled and the public will be notified about the new dates and times.
