L. Lamor WilliamsPublic Works crews continue to catch up on yard waste pick-up after June storms downed trees and knocked out power across the city.
Staff reports that the storms left Solid Waste crews with three times the amount of yard waste to collect and that routes are taking two to three days to clear rather than one day.
“Normally the Citywide yard waste pick-up is a 5-day cycle with about 70 loads of yard waste,” said Ronny Loe, Assistant Director of Public Works. “The past cycle took 12 days with overtime and 190 loads to complete. Crews have been working 6 days a week since late June.”
