LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock Parks and Recreation Volunteer Division invites the public to an inaugural festival fundraiser, Music in the Park, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on June 3, 2022, at War Memorial Park. The funds raised will benefit the Adopt-A-Park, Trail and Flowerbed programs plus the Volunteer Park Ranger and Jr. Park Ranger programs. The event is free to the public.
Sad Daddy, named one of the top 12 bands to watch out for in 2022 by The Nashville Scene, will perform, and food trucks, merchants, artisans, craft beer and nonprofit vendors will also be on hand.
All vendor and sponsor applications are still open.
“We really want to increase volunteerism, membership and the overall branding of our nonprofits. So, we encourage Arkansas’s nonprofits to Impact the Rock with us,” said Maylee Rollins, nonprofit coordinator and Pulaski Academy student.
The War Memorial Park festival is the first of a two part music series. The second concert is on October 6, 2022, at Allsopp Park.
“We are excited to bring our community together over live music and a good cause,” said Leland Couch, director of Parks and Recreation. “We couldn’t do it without the support of Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield and Orion Federal Credit Union.”
