What: Championship Football Team Honored by City of Little Rock
When: Tuesday, January 17, 2012 – 6:00 p.m.
Where: City Hall Board Chambers – 500 W. Markham St.
The City of Little Rock is proud to be home to Pulaski Academy who made history in December when they defeated Malvern to win the 4A State Championship at War Memorial Stadium. Tonight, Mayor Mark Stodola, City Directors and City Manager Bruce Moore will honor the Bruins at the Board of Directors meeting at 6:00 p.m.
The Bruins advanced to the championship game after receiving a bye in the first found, then defeated Osceola 57-18, Pottsville 65-13 and Dollarway 51-32. The Dollarway game was especially exciting because a crew from HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel was there to do a story on PA’s football program, specifically focusing on Head Coach Kevin Kelly and his unique philosophy on how to play the game.
Little Rock has been and continues to be home to many championship teams. The City would like to give credit where credit is due to the Bruins who are a part of a legacy of true ability and sportsmanship
