Jennifer Godwin | (o) 501 371 4421 | (c) 501 804 4822LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 18, 2016) – One road is all that remains closed in Little Rock after severe summer storms hit the area last week. Rebsamen Park Road at Sherrill Road north to the roundabout is closed because a downed tree with a utility line tangled in it, which will require removal by the utility. A partial street closure is at 1010 Scott Street, which is blocked by a tree and a leaning street light pole.
The City of Little Rock received more than 250 service requests at 200 different locations after the storm last Thursday. Crews worked night and day and over the weekend to get areas cleared.
Street Operations crews will spend this week removing the trees and debris from the right of ways at 80 locations where trees were cut and pushed out of the street to open the traffic lanes over the weekend.
Residents, too, are cleaning up after the storm. The City advises that only storm debris can be placed at the curb for pickup in the coming days. The yard waste rule regarding limb sizes will be temporarily relaxed for such debris.
