NEW RIVER MARKET DISTRICT PARKING SYSTEM IN OPERATION

Pay and display parking meters offer multiple payment options

LITTLE ROCK – New parking meters recently installed in Little Rock’s River Market District are now operational and accepting coins or credit cards for parking.

The new pay and display meters, installed September 22, have undergone several rounds of testing and are ready for use. Eight meter stations are located along President Clinton Avenue, the 100 block of Sherman Street and the 100 block of River Market Avenue, covering all the parking spaces within those blocks.

Little Rock Parking Enforcement technicians have been writing “warning” citations for several weeks to remind those parking in the River Market to use the new meters. On Tuesday, November 5, Parking Enforcement will discontinue writing “warning” citations.

“Once drivers are accustomed to the new pay and display units, operation should be second nature,” said Jack Wrenn, Director of Little Rock Parking Enforcement. “Our Parking Enforcement technicians will be able to assist drivers with use of the new meters.”

To operate the meters, drivers should follow the prompts on the screen for a successful transaction. Drivers should note:

  • Meters accept coins and credit/debit cards, but do not accept cash
  • When paying with a credit/debit card, do not remove your card from the meter until prompted to do so
  • The maximum parking time will remain (2) hours
  • Display the printed receipt on the curbside dash of the vehicle so it can be read by Parking Enforcement Technicians

Pay and display hours will continue to be Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.
