LITTLE ROCK – Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. announced today that Little Rock will be one of the stops on the National League of Cities Centennial Roadshow next week as the organization celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Representatives from the National League of Cities will visit several Little Rock sites on Monday, June 17, during a tour led by Mayor Scott and the Little Rock Board of Directors.
The NLC's Centennial Road Show is part of a year-long celebration of the organization that works to advance local government and advocate for cities, towns and villages nationwide. NLC's roadshow includes stops in 100 cities across the country in order to spotlight each community's diversity, resilience and transformation.
"It is a privilege to welcome National League of Cities representatives to our community and show them the people, the history, the culture and the quality-of-life amenities that make this a great place to live, work and play," Mayor Scott said. "We value NLC as a partner and champion for Little Rock as it advocates for federal policies and legislation beneficial to our City, and we appreciate NLC for selecting Little Rock as a stop on its centennial tour."
The Little Rock visit kicks off Monday at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall. After that, participants will visit Little Rock Central High School, the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and the Clinton Presidential Center.
