Little Rock, AR (Feb. 11, 2008) – Celebrate National Brain Awareness Week at Beat. Breathe. Think., March 13-15 at the Museum of Discovery. The Museum will offer free admission on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., courtesy of the UAMS Neurobiology Department.
Beat. Breathe. Think. takes visitors on a journey through the circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems and teaches the importance of good nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The Body Shoppe will feature brain dissections, finger casts and other health and medical activities. Through hands-on experiments, activities, educational displays and demonstrations by experts, visitors of all ages will learn fascinating facts and important tips for taking care of the human body.
Beat. Breathe. Think. is held in conjunction with National Brain Awareness Week with special demonstrations presented by the Arkansas Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience. A sheep brain dissection will allow visitors to get up close to the brain and learn how it functions as the control center of the body.
Former classroom teacher Tim Arem will perform his fitness program, "T-Bone's Fitness Mania.” His performance inspires participants using exercise, nutrition tips, music and magic.
Special performance times: March 13 & 14 - 9:30a.m., 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 p.m.
March 15 - 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.
Regular admission fees will apply on March 13 & 14.
Museum Members are invited to a member preview party on Thursday, March 13 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Founded in 1927, The Museum of Discovery is Little Rock’s oldest museum. It remains a fixture of the River Market District in Downtown Little Rock attracting visitors of all ages. With over 25,000 square feet of hands-on, interactive exhibits, the Museum is a family destination “where you have worlds to discover.”
The Museum’s mission is to ignite a passion for science, technology and math in a dynamic, interactive environment. Admission is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for children 1-12, $7.00 for seniors over 65 and free for children under one. Memberships are available.
