LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Jan. 23, 2015) – It’s tax time again and thousands of Little Rock residents could qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) designed to help low-to-moderate income families as well as free tax preparation help.
In addition to the City of Little Rock, the EITC Coalition includes Entergy Arkansas, the Central Arkansas Development Council, the Internal Revenue Service as well as the Arkansas Workforce Center which has organized Super Saturday, a day of free tax preparation help.
The 2015 Super Saturday will focus on domestic abuse and the topic of changes and waivers in the 2014-15 tax code that pertain to survivors of domestic abuse.
The program will also include testimonies from Vicky and D.J. Williams who are both survivors of domestic abuse. They moved from Texas to Little Rock in order to escape that situation. D.J. is a former University of Arkansas Razorback standout 1st Team All-SEC Conference Player and winner of the 2010 John Mackey Award for being the best collegiate tight end in the country. He formerly played for the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots in the NFL and is currently a free agent.
Details about Super Saturday will be announced at the EITC Coalition event Monday.
