WHAT:       City of Little Rock Parks & Recreation officials will hold a ceremony Friday, Oct. 17 to break ground on the new West Central Community Center. This development will be constructed where the former Rosedale Optimist Club center currently stands.

The new 23,000-square-foot space will house an indoor multiuse basketball court, locker rooms and concessions area. Other plans include construction of a game room, fitness room, two multipurpose classrooms for youth programs and one classroom for adult and senior activities.

The center will be a place for everyone in the community to come together and strengthen their athletic and social skills with supervised activities year round.
