LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 14, 2014) – Luis Gonzalez has been hired as the communications and marketing manager for the City of Little Rock, City Manager Bruce Moore announced Monday.

Gonzalez will lead the City’s communications division managing all public relations outreach, serving as the primary contact for the media, and supervising the City’s government access channel, Little Rock Television (LRTV).  He will be responsible for developing communication strategies for a wide variety of City initiatives.

“Luis brings valuable experience to the City of Little Rock,” said Moore.  “He has already served our City by working with our partners on sustainability and public parks programs.  His background on public communication strategies will be a great match for our goals and objectives.”

Before joining the City, Gonzalez was an account supervisor at the state’s largest advertising and public relations agency.  During his tenure, he managed many of the agency’s largest state and municipal accounts. Gonzalez’s background includes successful programs in the public education, economic development, and public health sectors.  He is also part of the Sculpture at the River Market Committee that raises funds for public art in Little Rock.  Luis served as the co-chair of the Sculpture at the River Market Young Professionals Committee.

“I’m excited to join the City of Little Rock team,” said Gonzalez.  “I’ve lived in Little Rock for nine years, and within that period of time I have witnessed how much our community has grown.  I’m proud to call our capital city my home, and I’m ready to help the public learn about the great things our team is doing to improve our quality of life.”

Originally from Panama City, Panama, Gonzalez moved to Arkansas to attend college.  He is a graduate of the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville and now lives in Little Rock.
