(Thursday, July 10, 2008) – The Little Rock City Beautiful Commission is requesting nominations for the 2008 City Beautiful Landscape Awards.
The Judging Criteria are: Landscape design must exceed the minimum ordinance requirements; Site maintenance must be above average with year-round interest; the project must display sensitive treatment of site grading and circulation design; landscape design must demonstrate an appropriate use of materials, sensitivity to adjacent sites and a visual/physical connection to the overall setting and environment; and the project must demonstrate excellent design and implementation including voluntarily upgrades or enhancements that have gone beyond the city requirements.
Any commercial, institutional, multifamily or subdivision landscape architectural project within the City of Little Rock that has been in place for one year is eligible. If a project was a previous winner, it is not eligible again for 5 years.
To enter, nominations must be submitted on the official entry form available on the City Beautiful Commission website: lrcitybeautifulcommission.org. If available, attach a digital photograph (prints/slides will be accepted) that would help illustrate why the site meets the judging criteria.
The deadline for submission is August 1, 2008. Entries must be emailed, faxed, or postmarked by the deadline
