LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 15, 2015) – City officials and Pettaway Neighborhood residents welcomed an outreach group from Aledo, Texas United Methodist Church as the group embarks on a five-day volunteer effort to revive homes in the Pettaway Neighborhood. The Senior High Missionary group plans to focus on cleanup and repair of existing houses with the guidance of Neighborhood Association leaders.

This group is making a return trip; their first time was in 2011.

“We firmly believe in the power of partnerships here at the City of Little Rock,” noted City Manager Bruce T. Moore.  “We appreciate these students coming to partner with the residents and the City.  The efforts by these volunteers will really help these residents continue to improve their neighborhood.”

The kickoff event took place at the house located at 1904 Bragg Street. In addition to their week of service, the group will also enjoy a cookout Thursday hosted by the Neighborhood Association as a way to express their thanks.
