(Little Rock – March 9, 2009) Little Rock City Manager Bruce T. Moore today announced that he had narrowed the list of people still in contention to be Little Rock’s next Fire Chief. After interviewing nine candidates in late February, Moore has selected four finalists.

In alphabetical order, the four are:
* Deputy Fire Chief Jerry D. Brooks, City of Fort Worth
* Assistant Fire Chief Don Kinney, City of Little Rock
* Deputy Fire Chief Gary Ludwig, City of Memphis
* Interim Fire Chief Greg Summers, City of Little Rock

“The applicants that I interviewed were outstanding,” Moore said. “These four distinguished themselves with their commitment and vision. In the coming weeks, I will bring each in for an intensive interview process including opportunities for them to meet with the public.”

The new Fire Chief will succeed Rhoda Mae Kerr, who took office as the new Austin, Texas, Fire Chief in January.
