LITTLE ROCK, AR (July 21, 2006) – Legendary performing artist Al Green will return to Little Rock Saturday, Aug. 19, commemorating former U.S. President Bill Clinton’s sixtieth birthday and the final day of the 10-week festivities marking the tenth anniversary of the River Market entertainment district.
Presented by the William J. Clinton Foundation and the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB), the concert will open with two local acts beginning at 6 p.m., with Green headlining at 9 p.m. in the Riverfest Amphitheater. Concert gates will open at 5 p.m.
Green became known to the world through a string of legendary hits in the early 1970s, including “Tired of Being Alone,” “Lets Stay Together,” “I Can’t Get Next To You,” and “I’m Still in Love With You,” among others. He is a native of Forrest City, Ark.
Tickets will go on sale Monday and cost $10 for general admission ($10 for10 years of the District), and $20 - $30 for reserved seating. Tickets may be purchased at Celebrity Attractions, located at 300 South Spring, Suite 100 in Little Rock, or through all Ticketmaster Outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at (501) 975-7575.
Beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be available on site, and parking in the River Market Parking Deck, located at the corner of 2nd and Commerce Streets will be available for only 10 cents – another discount in honor of the anniversary.
Former President Clinton is not scheduled to attend the concert. All proceeds from the concert will go for continuing improvements in the River Market District.

The District kicked off its 10-week anniversary celebration June 8. Numerous events, promotions, hotel packages and festivities have been ongoing since the kickoff, and will run through Saturday, Aug. 19.
