On Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 11:40 PM, officers in the Northwest Division responded to a shooting just occurred call for service at 1400 Leander Drive. Upon responding officers’ arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the shooting victim to a local hospital. The victim later died as a result of his injuries.

Homicide Detectives and the LRPD Crimes Scene Search Unit responded to perform a neighborhood canvass of the immediate area and collect any items of evidentiary value. After a preliminary investigation, the victim’s identity was unable to be positively determined and the body was transported by the Pulaski County Coroner's Office to the Arkansas State Crime Lab. An Autopsy and testing for identification will be completed at the Arkansas State Crime Lab. 

This investigation is ongoing and the next of kin has not yet been determined to be notified.
