Little Rock Police Officers were called to the 11715 block of Doe Run Drive on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in reference to a shooting. The call came into Communications just after noon and when officers arrived they made contact with Keiundrea Davis, who advised officers her daughter shot herself. Ms. Davis then led officers to the juvenile, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The juvenile was then transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to injuries. Devonte Davis, 19, of Little Rock was inside the residence at the time of the shooting. The Coroner later responded and took possession of the juvenile and transported her to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit responded to the scene and began their investigation.  Mr. and Ms. Davis were transported to the 12^th Street station and interviewed. After officers conducted a search of the residence and concluded the interviews, Ms. Davis was charged with Manslaughter and transported to PCRJ.  Rahim Basir also lived at the residence but was not at home at the time of the incident; however, he was later charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons and possession of a Prohibited weapon and transported to PCRJ as well.
