LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 28, 2014) – The Friends of the Animal Village will host the annual Doggie Paddle Day at the Jim Dailey Fitness & Aquatic Center on Sunday, Nov. 2. The public is encouraged to bring their dogs and let them enjoy a fun day at the pool. In addition to hours of dog swim time, pups can enjoy a bake sale of homemade dog treats and a retrieving-and-jumping competition. Amenities will also be available for the dogs’ humans, including face painting, a bouncy castle, and a snack section complete with popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Little Rock Animal Village. Funds will contribute to the purchase of a blood centrifuge machine for the shelter. The machine will allow immediate results on blood work so necessary treatments can be administered instantly.
Admission to the event is $10 per dog. To enter the jump competitions, dog owners will have to pay an additional $5. In order to enjoy the aquatic festivities, dogs must be spayed or neutered. Owners are advised to only bring dogs that can play well with others. Dogs should also have their rabies tag and one human adult per dog.
