LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 15, 2016) – Little Rock’s Spanish-speaking residents will learn about driving rules and regulations during informational sessions to be held the last two Saturdays in April.
Working Together in the Community has scheduled two sessions, April 23 and April 30, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Southwest Community Center on Baseline Road.
Residents are invited to take part in the free sessions, which will cover such topics as:
- Motor vehicle and traffic laws in Arkansas
- Road signs and traffic signals
- How to register a vehicle
- How to take the driving exam
The classes will be taught in Spanish by Officer Jacob Tobler of the Little Rock Police Department.
Refreshments and childcare will be provided.
The Working Together in the Community group consists of community members, business owners, government officials, and others who want to unite Little Rock’s communities and make neighborhoods better.
In 2015, the group organized the Guatemalan mobile consulate visit, which helped hundreds of people living in Little Rock obtain documents from their home country. More consulate visits are in the works for this year as well.
