At 7:39 a.m. on April 11, 2024, an unresponsive 3-month-old infant was taken to a local hospital. Doctors determined the infant suffered severe brain injuries and later succumbed to his injuries. Doctors later determined the injuries were consistent with abuse. LRPD Detectives were notified and began an investigation. During the investigation, detectives determined that the child’s father, 18-year-old Xavier Andrews, was responsible for the abuse that led to the infant’s demise. Mr. Andrews was later arrested and charged with Capital Murder. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
