What: Healthy Food and Active Summit Announced
When: Thursday, September 15, 2011 – 10:30 a.m.
Where: City Hall Rotunda – 500 West Markham Street
Mayor Mark Stodola and Summit Conveners will announce the Little Rock Serves – City of Little Rock 2011 Healthy Food and Active Living Summit at a press event to be held today, Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:30 in the rotunda of City Hall.
U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius will deliver the keynote address at the Summit to be held at Philander Smith College on September 28th and 29th. Other speakers will be announced this morning.
The Food Summit was called by Mayor Stodola in his 2011 State of the City speech, in which the Mayor identified a series of health-related issues facing Little Rock residents including access to healthy, nutritious and affordable food, childhood obesity and elimination of food deserts.
