On October 2, 2022, Little Rock Police Officers responded to 209 Greencrest Drive in reference to a disturbance with a weapon. Communications advised the caller stated that Alex Stewart was outside her home shooting at her house. When officers arrived, they made contact with the female inside the residence that stated her mom transported the victim to the hospital. Officers also noted a large amount of blood found inside the residence with a rifle next to it. A local hospital, UAMS, reached out to detectives to inform them a shooting victim arrived at the emergency room. Officers responded and identified the victim as Alex Stewart, 40, of Little Rock. His body was later transported to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Homicide Detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit began an investigation. Detectives interviewed witnesses in the area. Upon further review, a juvenile and guardian were interviewed by detectives and a file review will be presented to the Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. This homicide investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Southwest Division.
