Bachelor of Science in Accounting and 2015 Graduate of Grants Management Certificate Program

  • City of Little Rock Grants Accountant for the past twenty years, 1997 to Present
  • City of Little Rock Small Business Development Administrator 1996-1997

HOW LONG HAVE YOU WORKED FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK? 21 years

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR JOB? I am responsible for overseeing Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnership (HIPP) and Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP2) annual and multi-year budgets. Reconcile each program bank account to assure that there is available cash on hand to operate the grant. Assist with additional grants in the Police Department, Fire Department and Parks and Recreations.

WHAT IS THE MOST MEANINGFUL PART OF YOUR WORK? Working with and collaborating with other departments to accomplish and meet financial goals.

WHAT SHOULD CITIZENS KNOW ABOUT YOUR DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM? Finance is the only department that has approximately nine divisions within the department that the majority, if not all divisions, work with all departments under City of Little Rock.

WHAT IS A FACT ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE PEOPLE? Most people associate me with track and field but I am also a competitive swimmer where attended Grambling State University on a dual scholarship (Track/Field and Swimming).

WHAT IS DOWNTIME FOR YOU? I am a Master Level Track and Field Official and the only Woman Starter in the state of Arkansas and the only Starter in the state of Arkansas who has worked in 7 different conference championship meets, in a predominately male field.

FAVORITE PLACE IN LITTLE ROCK? Home because I am rarely there and when I am, I love to relax and catch up on all the shows and movies I record.
